Sister Time.

It's been forever since I've had 'sister time' with my older sister, after she moved to San Fransisco from Austin. Last time I went, it was technically my HoneyMoon with my husband. So I didn't really get a chance to just hang out with my sister, god knows I'm over due for some of that~

Last week she text me asking if I wanted to go shopping with her the following weekend, I made a joke saying that I would go only if she paid for my ticket. She didn't reply for about 30 min. but once she did she said to my surprise: I'll pay for half!

I knew she was serious, so I started to consider it, but financially it was not possible, for I had just paid rent and was flat broke!

Very disappointing, but I did tell her to pick a week out of January and I will take the time off to go.

Just searched tickets, and they are HALF the price they are marked at right now, I'm guessing because it's the holiday season~

Needless to say, I gotta save up for next time I get paid, I will buy my tickets!!

Crochett Dolls

I picked up my crochet hook that was gathering dust in my room. I started making a Sailor Moon doll with removable clothing. I posted a lot of pictures through Twitter. A lot of my friends liked it, I've sold one so far, and I have given one away. The one I gave away was to a friend of mine who had just passed his Bar Exam to become a layer! He is my age and I was very impressed! His Favorite Sailor Scout is Sailor Mercury. So I made a smaller than usual for him, just so I wouldn't take too long to make it.

He requested pictures of the process, as shutter happy and excited I am to report my progress, I was more than happy to do so!

So here is my progress documented by pictures:

It was pretty much done after that. And as always I gave my doll a photo shoot!:

So I sent it out and he Loved it!
He also suggested I start charging for these amazing creations :3

That is all! :D
Until next time~~ :3

My Moonie Purchases

Lately I've been spending a lot, if not most, of my spending money on Sailor Moon merchandize! In my opinion, this is not a bad thing. I'm making up for what I didn't have in my childhood! I don't make a lot of money so I don't like to spend too much on a single thing.
I also have TERRIBLE buyers remorse, I'm perfectly OK with spending money for someone else, but when I buy myself something I really want, I feel super guilty!! I wish I could fix it, but it can't be helped! So I hunt the internet for the best BANG for my buck! Or something close to it!
So I'm here to list what I've found at a really good price!

www.farmgoodsforkinds.com has some small Sailor Moon items that were really cheap!
I bought ten of these little 6" rulers. The website only lists three different kinds but I got four different kinds, which was a nice surprise! Considering they don't allow you to choose which ones you can get.
Price: $0.12

(close up of the hair brush)

This tooth brush I've had before but way back in middle school! So then one I have is all used up and probably lost within the jungle of the junk in my closet! The brush is pretty cute, although either it was previously open or the glue on it is just so old that any kind of pressure that was applied to it the old glue couldn't handle.. WHO KNOWS! Since I was planning on not ever opening any of this, it gives me a perfect excuse to use it!
Both of these paired together was: $2.95

This is a cute little address book. The cover of this address book is the same as a journal I have previously owned. It feels really sturdy and its a bit thin, I guess I was comparing it to the journal which would, for obvious reasons, be thicker since it uses up more pages.
I was expecting a cute Sailor Moon themed design on the inside, but its nothing special, pretty basic address book on the inside~
Price: $0.99

(view of the back)

And this was a pencil tin that is super cute but most likely a boot leg.
Price: $1.95

Overall it was an awesome super deal for a lot of these :3
Although the shipping was more than all the items put together, I must admit that it was worth it because they got here within 3 to 4 days! :D

More Moonie Purchases to come!

Finds from Out Of The Past Vo.II

TODAY'S FIND:

I love the look of milk glass!
this was a cute little container that with an opening on the top, and not to mention a cute little handle! she has a good selection of milk glass things. I've bought a set of drinking milk glasses, and I think I'll keep going back for more! :3

I bought this one because its not as expensive and it reminded me of the Fenton milk glass :3 but not as fancy~~
I'm not quite sure what I'll put in it! but I think I'll use it for buttons or something once I get my sewing table and organize my sewing supplies!

Since I always help her organize her things she is always giving me something in return of my voluntary services! She knows my passion and love for Sailor Moon so she is making an effort to find Sailor Moon things for me! I hadn't gone to see her in about a week but she said she's been holding onto that comic book for me until I finally came to see her. Needless to say Linda is THE SHIT! Totally love that lady!

Until Next time!!

Finds from Out Of The Past Vo.I

There is a local store here in Austin that is called OUT OF THE PAST. It's an awesome store if you have time on your hands and patience to dig through her mountain of stuff!!

To give you an idea of what her store looks like:

The owner is an awesome lady by the name of Linda! She can come off as "rude" or "not nice" when you first meet her, but she's a sweet heart once you get a chance to get to know her! My husband and I ADORE HER!

It always seems like what she has in her store is ENDLESS! In most cases it is because once she sells something she fills in whatever space she's emptied, so every time I go there, I ALWAYS see something new!

ANYWAY! I want to start reporting on things I find that, in my opinion, are really neat!
Today's Item is:

I've always found this to be super cute!
It looks like it's a little Dutch boy and girl. They are a bit faded but what do you expect for in a vintage shop? She keeps moving them throughout the store, so I always have a fear of her selling them. I would like to get them but I don't know what I would do with them!

Her toy selection is awesome! We've found so many cool toys, even some that I remember from my childhood! But I'll show off more next time!

Chadd's Comics! VOL. 1.

For those of you who don't know. Chadd is my husband!
He loves comic books. his collection is like none I've ever seen, that's coming from a girl who hasn't seen many comic book collections... BUT trust me! It's quite large!

He started reading comics when he was around 7. His older brother Stacey introduced him to comic books, later his brother handed down his collection to Chadd. And that's when it all started!

He's always had trouble with reading, so comics naturally are easier to read for him. He's told me of a time in High School where he asked his teacher if it was ok for him to read comic books in class for an in-class "reading time". His teacher told him "if you have one, sure", and of course Chadd has a comic book! But the rest of the class didn't, and they were bitching at the fact that he could sit there and read a comic while every one else had to settle for whatever the teacher had to read in the class room.

Because of this obsession Chadd has become an encyclopedia of comic book information, as well as an encyclopedia of a very wide variety of useless information, a dictionary (terrible speller though, due to his issue with reading), and why he's got such awesome art skills!

The picture up there is our new apartments version of what we used to have at our previous apartment. And those are just his graphic novels, and a very small pile of issues on top. But I'll leave to show off his issues in a diff post!

Before & After

Lately I've gotten really lazy!
This passed Monday and Saturday I've gotten off work early, which is RARE! Because Those two days are the days I have 12 hrs shifts!
Monday was due to Memorial day and the fact that between 10AM-1PM we had a total of 3 customers come in...

Saturday I had a wedding to attend because my Husband was performing the ceremony. It was his first one ever, so he wanted me to be there. The night before at 2:30AM we decided to go grocery shopping so I had little to no sleep, So I guess I've been resting up.

The result of all of this was... A filthy messy apartment!

So I thought it would be interesting to record my ... progress? I guess... Can't think of a better word at the moment...

Before:
It's mainly just dirty clothes every where, and the usual everything out of place thing.

This is the after for that one:

Before:

After:

Before (Husbands side of the room):
After:

Washed all the clothes on the floor and all the sheets :3
That is all! :D
And yes I do realize that most of that stuff on the shelf and beside the sewing table are still messy, but those are my craft supplies. And I like them that way >:3
